Passion Pitch: Celebrating Student Digital Leadership by Jennifer Casa Todd
It is important to move students beyond Digital Citizenship toward Digital Leadership. That means empowering students to use technology and social media to learn and share learning, empower others, address social injustice, and be a more positive influence in the lives of others. There are students doing this right now. Who are they and how can we let everyone know about them and the great work that they are doing?
Jennifer Casa-Todd is formerly the Literacy Consultant for the York Catholic District School Board in York Region, Ontario Canada. She will begin a new role in September as a Teacher-Librarian at Cardinal Carter school in Aurora. She is passionate about connecting students to each other and the world using technology and social media and fostering student digital leadership. She is currently working on a book on the topic which will be released in the Spring.
